Sedation Dentistry
Sedation dentistry dramatically reduces the body's natural tendency to tense muscles while stressed, helping you to feel relaxed and at ease. Dental anesthetics are also more effective while the body is relaxed, practically eliminating any concerns about discomfort during treatment.
Sedation dentistry is an excellent option for anyone who suffers from dental anxiety or phobias, has difficulty getting numb, and has a strong gag reflex or highly sensitive teeth. It is also ideal for patients who wish to have multiple procedures completed in one visit without discomfort or for anyone who has difficulty sitting for a longer period of time.
Nitrous Oxide is given so you can drift away during treatment and come back feeling like you have had a restful nap. Some know Nitrous Oxide as laughing gas because of the temporary exhilarating effect, the slight tingling feeling and the altered sense of time. Whatever you call it, this sedating and pain relieving gas can help you settle into a blissful state. Sedation takes only about 2 minutes after administration starts. After the treatment is completed, we will administer pure oxygen so you wake feeling clear and able to drive in no time.
